I am back to working on that QOV. The majority of you said to go with the Starstruck panto to quilt it. And I was all ready to do so.
Except I just couldn’t make myself start it.
It would have been easy. And done by now.
But, I knew this top would look better with even a simple custom job. And while in the shower on Monday, it all came to me.
Even simple ruler work takes a long time. But this compliments the top instead of just holding it together. It is also good practice since I haven’t done anything with rulers and templates for a while.
I read in my devotions this morning, that the right thing is often not the easy thing. And that goes in quilting as well as other areas of life.
If you are looking for a lovely online community to share devotions with, I highly recommend She Reads Truth..

I like it! Sometimes quilts just tell you how they want to be done. And they won’t consider time or cost. 😉
Perfect choice of quilting!
I LIKE IT! I just finished a cross-hatch on a table runner, I can’t even imagine doing something this large. Beautifully done.
It’s going to turn out just beautiful! You know I often tell myself that it is OK to do more complicated designs-just dig in and do it as it could take just as long in the debating process as it does to really do something neat.
Perfect!! I agree, sometimes the quilt just won’t let you go the ‘easy way’ 🙂 It is amazing how even very ‘simple’ ruler work takes so much time but the results are so worth it!
I like it. That’s one of the things that I don’t like about a lot of long arm quilting that is done edge to edge. It doesn’t necessarily fit the design. it just gets the quilt finished.
