Thanks for all the comment regarding the panto choice for my QOV. Most of you preferred the Starstuck panto. I liked both. However, I decided to wait a few days and play around a bit with some ideas for a custom job. I used an app for my iPad called Adobe Ideas. It allows you to import a picture and then draw on top of it. As you will see, I am not good at drawing with my finger (not good with a pencil either!). Here are some screen shots:
I have too much going on this weekend to focus on actually quilting this but I hope to get some more time to play with the app. This is the first time I have actually used it since downloading it but I think it could be really handy for this.
What do you all use for designing the quilting for your quilts?

Last year I bought a bamboo tablet which came with photoshop software.
I usually start by leafing thru several books that are specifically about the quilting designs on quilts. After I have an idea in my head, I make a copy of a block in the quilt and then draw the design on it. It does help you see what it will look like. I do have a app on my android tablet that lets you draw on photos. I just never thought about using it, so thank you for opening my eyes. What a great idea!
What a great app! I’ll have to investigate whether I can get it on my MAC. I mostly use my imagination–I sit and stare at the quilt till I get an idea. Then I start it and keep re-evaluating as I go, modifying as I need to. Sometimes that leaves me wishing I’d done something else at the beginning, but I haven’t ripped out quilting stitches yet.
