As many of you know, five weeks ago our basement flooded due to a sump pump failure (yes, we had a backup that failed at the same time). This resulted in a major renovation project. In the process, Mr. Wonderful and I traded spaces. He got my old sewing room for his office and I got the big room for my sewing space. There are a few details that need finishing (closet and some trim) but it is pretty much done and ready to use. So here is the grand tour. First view is coming down the stairs into the sewing room. Hubby’s office is to the right.

Moving to the left, you can see my big white storage cabinets.

My long arm sits directly in front of these. My toy sewing machine collection is displayed on top of the cabinets. Moving around the corner to the left is my design wall.

Then my newly painted sewing cabinet with my vintage Singer 201.

Next is a sitting area that will be tweaked to become a play area when Baby E and Baby L are a little older.

To the left of the sitting area is a closet, my poly batting, and my wire basket system which holds my stash.

The doorway to the left is a full bath and the door immediately to the left of that goes to hubby’s workshop. Next is my repainted desk holding my Bernina 1030, a great workhorse of a machine!

Next is my computer area and to the left of that is my embroidery machine. It has to be connected to the computer so they had to stay together.

That brings us back to the beginning.

Well, almost. I created an island in the center of the room. There is a support column right in the middle that I had to work around. Actually, that isn’t as bad as it sounds since that column has an outlet for my iron. The island is made up of two of my vintage enamel tables, my ironing table and a workspace made from IKEA components. There is an opening in the middle just right for the column. Here are pics:

I love having my dies stored so close to my studio cutter. I also love my storage under the long arm.

And the cart hubby found for me:

This contains frequently used items and can be wheeled around to wherever I need it.
I am sure there are many details I missed and things I will change and move along the way. If you want to see my old sewing room, click here.
I am so thankful to Mr. Wonderful who worked so hard to make this beautiful space a reality for me. I am blessed!

Audrey, Well, I viewed both sets of pics, and I must say that you and “hubby” did an amazing job! Also, I am seeew jealous of the space that you have for embroidering and quilting and whatever hat you might want to wear on any particular day! Just had to respond…I stumbled upon this while viewing beautiful quilts on Pinterest! I may be a couple of years (or so lol) late but I just wanted to give the roses where and when deserved!! Bless you for sharing; I. really love your sewing room and you are truly blessed!!

I like your sewing machine table. Did you get it recently? If so, can you say the brand and where you got it from. I like the simplicity of it with the recessed machine drop and space available. Also, love your sewing area. It is beautiful.
Great organized space, congrats on your new room. Time to sew!

I like your wall of cabinets. I have been considering something similar. Are they from a big box store? They would keep my mess out of sight. Thanks for the tour.
