Remember the picture I showed yesterday? Here is the full reveal. Ta daaa!!!
I know some if you are gasping and spitting out your coffee at the fact that I painted a vintage sewing cabinet like this. Let me assure you, it was this or the curb. This cabinet had water stains up the sides and chipped veneer on the bottom. It was well made for sure and is very sturdy but it looked bad. I am very happy with the way it turned out and will use it for many years to come.
The machine is a 1955 Singer Model 201. It was their top of the line in its day and it sews like a charm. It is quiet and strong due to the fact that it is gear driven, no belts. I have sewn many miles on this machine and am very happy to have it out where I can use it again. Tomorrow, I hope to quilt this on it:

No spitting out coffee here, I had to hurry and swallow it so I could say WOW!!! That’s the truth!!! That red is gorgeous!! Wonderful job. Enjoy!
I love this! You did a great job on it. I really need to find one for myself and paint it like that too!
Spectacular! Love what you did to the cabinet! And that it is not just a piece of furniture but that you use it!
Your cabinet is divine. The little quilt is divine also.
it looks amazing, I think it really makes the machine shine, great job
Wow, that looks stunning! You made the right decision to paint.
I think it’ll make you feel happy every time you sit there to sew 🙂
I love it!!! Red is a favorite of mine.
I love the red! What a beautiful way to display your machine and quilts!
It turned out so great! The red is really striking!
I love vintage machines and your Singer 201 is a beauty. She looks so inviting in that freshly painted cabinet. Gorgeous!
Heart be still! The 201 shines in the fabulous cabinet! What kind of paint did you use? I would love to have a vintage machine sitting in a bright red cabinet.
It is stunning – a work of art! Great choice.
Oh, my! It looks absolutely AMAZING! I love it!
I love the makeover! Looks terrific and so does your 201. I have a 201 that I just love. Still looking for a cabinet for it. I can’t wait to see how it does on your quilt!
I am always reluctant to paint furniture and yet I love the look of it. You can never go wrong with red!
I just LOVE that! What a fabulous make-over! Perfect! Now I really can’t wait to see all of your new sewing room!
Red is my favorite color so I love it. The quilt looks even more beautiful against the red background of the stand.
I love it. It is so refreshing . The red made that beautiful machine really stand out. Great choice,
Beautiful cabinet, and beautiful quilt!
I love it!!! I have the same machine in the same cabinet and I sew on the machine everyday. I got it at a garage sale for $50 and wouldn’t take a million dollars for it! You have given me a great idea, though. Hmmmm. ..I might just paint mine now!
Hi…was the water damage from the recent incident? Did you peel off the veneer before painting? is it a gloss finish? It is FESTIVE. I like it.
Oh I love that red! And your quilt!
The cabinet, the sewing machine and the quilt all look fabulous!
