Thanks for all the love on my hexie quilt yesterday! I had a number of questions regarding construction so I have decided to do a tutorial post on it. I will wok on that today and post it tomorrow. Hopefully that will answer all the questions regarding dies etc.
In the mean time, I decided to do a monthly wrap-up as an easy way for me to keep track of my finishes through the year. I finished several UFOs this month, including my Farmer’s Wife quilt which was two years on the making.
This Tree Everlasting quilt was started and finished in January. I am particularly happy with the machine quilting on this one, a combination of ruler work, freehand, and a pantograph. It will be a QOV.
The blocks for this cross quilt were made last fall and it was completed and gifted this month.
Mr. Wonderful bought me this vintage Boston Commons quilt for Christmas. It was someone’s UFO for many years! Now it is on my bed.
This Bear Paw is my January challenge quilt for the SQT group. It is made from vintage fabrics.
This is from signature swap done last year in the SQT group.
Also from an SQT swap.
Another QOV.
February is a big month for me with grandbaby #1 due any time! I will be heading down to Arizona, although I am not sure exactly when yet. Here are my goals for the month:
1. Finish the two QOVs in progress.
2. Finish my calendar quilt.
3. Stroller blanket for GB #1
4. SQT Challenge
5. Finish the Midwinter Blues QAL with Lori at Humble Quilts.
6. DS Hexie Quilt in progress.
7. Clean all my closets and cupboards. I know, not a sewing goal but I am making myself organize something every day before I sew.
Come back tomorrow for the hexie tutorial. I am linking up with Connie today at Free Motion by the River.

What beautiful projects! You have been busy! Thanks for sharing.

Woman! Do you even have time to eat!? Such lovely, lovely quilts. I couldn’t even begin to choose one over another. Congratulations on your first grandbaby!
Amazing quilt show! I especially love the signature quilt… It looks so cozy.
I really like your red and white quilt!
Oh my! What amazing eye candy! Congrats on all your projects!
WOW!!!!!! and you work too!!! I’m feeling like a slacker – LOL!!!!! You are my new hero, so when I grow up I want to be just like you. LOL!!!!! Now I feel challenged. But really, I am impressed by your quilts, they are all beautiful. I so look forward to these blogs you are an inspiration. Thank you
Beautiful finishes! That Boston commons quilt is quite special.
Wow, were you quilting every minute of the day? That is some productive show and tell, but I can see you slowing down in the next month – that precious GC #1 will stop you in your tracks. They’re all wonderful, but I particuarly like that cross quilt. Congratulations!
What wonderful finishes. Hugs
Katy, I love them all, but I vote passionately for the Farmer’s Wife. That one is so intriguing! I am amazed at your creativity and productivity!!!
You had a great month of finishes. You are off to a great start for the year. Lots of lovely finishes.
Wow, you were productive in the month of January!! Meanwhile I plod along on my Storm at Sea. 😉 I’d get more done if I didn’t allow myself to get sidetracked by my Texas Star project, like I did over the weekend.
