Farmer’s Wife!

I am finally going to make something for me. Instead of working on the Kansas Troubles blocks, I decided to pull out a UFO. Daughter #1 bought me the Farmer’s Wife book for Christmas 2 years ago. I never intended to make all the blocks. I want to hang this in my front hall and that would be way to big. I made 62 blocks and stopped there. Sure wish I could remember how I was going to lay it out!

I do know that I am going to use sashing and cornerstones. Trying to decide between 1″ finished and 1 1/2″ finished sashing.

I am leaning toward the narrower sashing. What do you think?

I covet this. I need to make one too. I love making sample blocks and I don’t have this pattern. You’re are so pretty.

  2. Narrower. I actually finished all 111 blocks. My quilt top is done. I’m putting 1/3 of the blocks on the back, and then off to someone else to quilt it. I can’t believe it is still folded up in a pile of other quilt tops…

Great blocks! I’d go with the narrow sashing, too.

I like the narrow. Your quilt is going to be gorgeous! I wish I lived near you, I would just love to visit. You get so much done you inspire me to do more. Thanks.

Definitely the narrow sashing. I like it better than the alternate block setting. They are gorgeous!
