Friendship Chain Finish!

I have a fun project for you today! I was so excited when I found out that AccuQuilt was releasing this new die! It has so many possibilities, but my first thought was, cheddar is better. 😁

And that pile, became this!

It almost seems to be something else altogether. And that is why I love this die. I think this will end up on my table in Arizona.

I found this older Kauffman floral in my stash that made a perfect backing.

It just feels like fall.

AccuQuilt has some great bundles to go along with the release of this die. Click here to check them out.

Have a great day!

Parsonsfield…..Oops!

I made all my four patches after posting about this last week.

And I cut my triangles and squares for the next part.

Ummmm….. notice a problem here? Apparently, it helps if you follow directions. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Maybe it’s another design opportunity?

Stay tuned…

Something New

I was in the mood for something different. I’ve had this layer cake hanging around for a while and it was time to use it.

I cut it into quarters like this.

Then I used my 8” QST die for precise cutting. There was very little waste.

One down, 41 more to go.

Have a great day!

Spoke too soon…

Ah, yes…never wax poetic about hardships and opportunities…..it will come back to bite you.

I started sewing rows together before putting everything on the design wall only to discover I still didn’t have enough blocks. And I had already used every last scrap of the gray in the corners. I do not want to put the lighter Star/moon fabric here.

So plenty of time was spent digging through stash to find a substitute.

Moving right along…..

Have a great day!

4 Patch Progress

I realized I needed more four patches to move ahead with my plan.

But I was out of the fabric shown below that I used for the corner triangles. So I grabbed the moon and Star fabric shown above.

I think this will do nicely.

The obstacles in quilting are really just design opportunities!

Have a great day!

Quilts from the Antique Mall

The mister and I went t9 a nearby antique mall this week. I didn’t buy anything, but it’s always fun to look. Here are the quilts things I saw.

These blocks were tempting!

I hope one day that all my quilts look as loved and used up as this one!

Not quilty, but this booth was fun.

Have a great day!

This and That

This author was recommended to me by Wendy at Piecefull Thoughts. I loved this book!

This is what Mr. Wonderful thinks of retirement!

We are Detroit Lions fans in our house so I dressed the dogs up for a recent game.

Willy just looks like President Trump. 😂

Happy Veteran’s Day! Especially to my two favorite vets, Daughter #2 and SIL.

Finish It Up Friday ~ Baby Charm Quilt

The hubs needed a baby quilt for a former coworker. I love making baby quilts! So, here it is!

I used half of a charm pack for the print squares.

I used leftover backing for the binding.

This is the pantograph I used for the quilting.

And…..ta daaaaa!

I love it! It finished at about 41 by 50 inches. Hmmmm…..this would be a great way to use some of those feed sack charms I cut up!

Have a great day!

Parsonsfield QAL

Lori over at Humble Quilts is doing it again! She’s hosting a lovely little quilt along. I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m finally started.

Hers is done all in shirting fabrics and I love it! But I had a bin of scraps nearby and just started cutting those up. Here is part one all finished.

I grabbed squares from my bin of precut squares for part two.

Time to sew. Have a great day!

Scrap Busting

I’ve had this bin of black, white, and red fabrics hanging out for ages. I knew what I wanted to do with them, I just haven’t gotten around to starting. This bin is the size of a large shoebox.

I grabbed my AccuQuilt Studio tumbler die and went to work. There is a GO! Die that is the same size and shape. I have that one in AZ.

Not bad!

Not wanting to put any pieces back, I grabbed another die and cut up the leftover scraps from cutting the tumblers.

This is the AccuQuilt Studio die I used. This is equivalent to Shape 1 in the 6” AccuQuilt Qube.

All the tiny leftovers went into the trash. I put the squares in my 2” square bin. The tumbler project is on hold for now. But it takes up much less room and it’s ready to go when I am.

Have a great day!
