This and That

Need a free pattern for a Valentine quilt? This one I wrote for AccuQuilt is under the free patterns tab on their site.

This just made me laugh!

I’m a real introvert so this doesn’t seem like a bad idea sometimes. 😂

Finished another puzzle this week. It’s a shame that a piece was missing.

And lastly, I have a book recommendation.

I learned a lot about women in WW2 that served our soldiers by driving Red Cross club mobiles. They served coffee and donuts along with a warm smile and taste of home.

Before I go, I noticed this fun deal from Connecting Threads.

I’ve always had really good service from Connecting Threads . Their prices are great as well, so this is just an added perk!

Have a great day!

Friday

No finishes for me this week! I did get all my 9 patches together.

I think it needs a border yet. I hope to get that done and get it loaded on Harry this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

Throwback Thursday

Not much sewing to show, so here is a throwback post. Enjoy!

Here are all the bed sized quilts that I finished in 2015. The first three are all from vintage tops and were not pieced by me.

The next one was recently gifted to my niece and her husband for a wedding gift.

This one was made for my older sister.

Work in Progress

That is the story of my life right now! But I do have some progress on my 9 patch.

I was going to look for a difference stripe, but couldn’t face digging through boxes. 😬

You can also tell that I have been just grabbing and sewing without laying everything out first. It’s hard to get to the design wall with all those boxes in front of it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Before I go, AccuQuilt Studio Dies are on sale!

Have a great day!

Progress?

It might be hard to tell, but I have made some progress in here. This is where things were last week.

And now.

And this pile is going down very slowly……..

Honestly, I spent most of the weekend ignoring this. It is overwhelming and I need to rework my fabric storage.

But first, I have deadlines so I’m doing some secret sewing.

Have a great day!

More 9 Patches

It always takes me a while to get back into the quilting groove when I have been away a while. I found these 9 patches given to me by a friend and thought they would be a good project. They finish at 3 inches.

I found this on Pinterest and thought I could make this work.

I had some of this striped fabric on hand. The stripe isn’t nearly as prominent as in the example above.

It isn’t bad, but I may look through the stash to see if I have something better.

Have a great day!

A Different Kind of Quilt

Isn’t this a cool puzzle? It was made by a great uncle of Mr. Wonderful.

All the pieces are cut from scraps of Formica.

And there is a whole box of extra pieces.

I have no idea how he cut these without chipping the Formica. Such a great treasure. We are lucky to have this.

Have a great day!

This and That

My beautiful baby girl turned 5 this week. The time has flown by!

I did some dog sitting for my grand dogs this week. Isn’t Milo adorable?

Speaking of birthdays, my sweet mother in love turned 92 last week. We enjoyed a lovely visit with her in our way back to AZ.

Anyone old enough to remember these? I got these playing cards from my grandpa. He owned a small general store in the 1940s-60s.

I also found this in my cleaning. I always loved this comic strip!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday?

Remember these? Years ago you could join a club and Keepsake Quilting would send swatches each month. I was never part of that, but didn’t turn these down when they were gifted to me.

I have both solids and prints.

They are approximately 1 1/2 inches square. I was thinking I might use them up for the tiny 9 patch challenge.

I finished one block. They are not totally accurate, so I’m undecided as to whether I will make more.

I also managed two more teeny tiny 9 patch blocks.

So that is my big finish for the week! I hope you got more done. Have a great day!

Unpacking

Can you stand more messy sewing room photos? Ugh. This is the current state of affairs.

These shelving units are just the best for all of my dies.

All these boxes contain fabric. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thankfully, this is the worst room in the house. One guest room is full of boxes of quilts. I think I need a quilt sale.

You know where I will be today. Have a good one!

WAIT! Before I go, I wanted to pass along these great deals from Fat Quarter Shop.
