December Wrap Up

It’s been a busy month, as December often is. Over the last few years, we have greatly simplified our Christmas celebrations, preferring to focus on the most important things, Jesus and family. But heading out west and working on home stuff has taken much of our time. Still I managed a few finishes.

I also was finally able to share this runner I made for AccuQuilt .

January is already looking crazy, so we shall see if I get anything done. Have a great day!

Something New

I’ve been working on some secret sewing that I can’t share just yet. But I was in the mood to take a break from that. I grabbed this bin of 2” squares and played a bit.

I had a lot of white on white squares so I grabbed those along with an assortment of pinks. I’m so not a pink girl!

Anyway, I decided to get a jump on Valentine’s Day and make another little heart quilt.

Trying to decide if I want a border on this or not.

It’s been a fun little diversion.

Hav3 a great day!

2023 UFOs

Out of 16 UFOs, I finished exactly two this year. 😳 That’s my worst record in years. I guess I found too many other things along the way to start.

First, this bow tie quilt that became a graduation quilt was finished.

And my strings became String Theory. I think this is my favorite quilt for this year!

Now, about those other 14 UFOs…..

Have a great day!

Morning Blend Table Runner

Did you know that AccuQuilt now carries June Tailor products? I decided to try out this quilt as you go table runner.

The package contains instructions and this batting. So the lines printed on it?

I put it up on my design wall to audition my fabric choices. I’m using Flowerland by Ruby Star Society.

Place your backing fabric right side down and then put the batting on top. I rough cut the piece so there was less bulk.

Then it is a simple flip and sew process.

It was fun and I completed it in an afternoon. AccuQuilt has many June Tailor Quilt as you go kits on their site. Check them out!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Feedsack Irish Chain

My leader/ender project is done! It is also my last finish for the year.

I really love this and I can definitely see another Irish Chain quilt in my future.

My quilting is a bit wonky. I need to level my quilt frame.

I used muslin on the back.

It crinkled up nicely in the wash! This photo is quite washed out, but definitely shows the texture.

This last one shows the truest color.

I’m loving this! I’ll hold onto it until I find a baby to gift it to.

Have a great day!

More Trip Around the World

I’ve placed pieces for a couple more blocks.

After I’m happy with the layout, I sew diagonal rows and clip them together.

I have the next four ready to sew.

Have a great day!

Harry Bell Avante 2

Hi all! I hope you had an amazing Christmas! We sure did.

But this post is about Harry. You may recall that I purchased him three years ago for my quilting room here in Arizona. He has been a real workhorse and trouble free to boot.

But I have decided to bring Friday to Arizona and I don’t need two long arms in one room! So here are some photos of Harry and some info. If you are in the southwest and willing to drive, he could be yours! Sorry, no shipping. 😊

The machine is on a 12 foot frame, so you can quilt anything from a miniature quilt up to a king size quilt.

Stickers will be removed. 😊

It comes with the back side controls and a laser light for doing pantographs.

The “trip” counter shows how many stitches I have personally put on the machine.

It has two stitch regulation modes, precision for ruler work and cruise for freehand, pantographs etc.

The package includes a stand alone bobbin winder, ruler base, quick loading system, and some thread and bobbins to get you started.

Here are a few samples of stitching I’ve done with this machine.

This is a great, trouble free machine to get started on due to the low price. I’m asking $5,000. Please email me at sew4given@aol.com if you are interested.

Thanks!

Katy

I’m Calling It Quits….

…..on these leader/ender blocks. I have a few small squares left, but not enough to make another row of blocks, so I’m stopping here.

The small squares were cut 2 inches. The blocks finish at 7 1/2 inches. I need to decide if I want to add a border.

Have a great day!
