More About Dora

Can you tell now that a quilter will live here?

This is my new sewing “room.”

I have my projects and machine stored in one of the benches.

And this is my hand sewing spot. I have my hand quilting and hand piecing projects in the large basket on the right and the small basket on the floor on the left holds hand work supplies.

Here is what is inside.

Of course, we have a quilt on the bed. 😊

If you are wondering where my die cutter is, never fear! I have my regular AccuQuilt Go! back at our Michigan house. It will get moved to Dora.

Have a great day!

Adventure

You just never know what adventures God has in store for you.

Meet Dora the Explorer.

Our new tiny home. She’s a 2012 Winnebago Sightseer. Here are a couple photos of the inside.

By the way, Dora means God’s gift. I’ll share more in the days to come.

We are so grateful. Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ 30s Scrappy Rectangles

Done! I love a quick finish, especially when it is loaded with scraps!

I kept the quilting simple.

I love solids for bindings, but this seemed interesting.

And look at the back!

This cheater print has been in the stash for a while and this was a perfect place to use it.

Before I go, Fat Quarter Shop is have a massive sale on jelly rolls! But hurry, the sale ends very soon.

Have a great day!

AQG 5

This is the last post from the Arizona Quilt Guild Show. This quilt won Best in Show and it was well deserved!

Hope you enjoyed this series of posts. Have a great day!

Progress

Sometimes a simple project is just what you need. I’m sewing this top in rows rather than blocks. Every seam is pressed toward the print.

This way everything nests.

Have a great day!

Preparations

I’m hoping to finally finish hand quilting my 9 patch on the way back to Michigan. I decided to get the binding made and ready to go. To keep it neat, I rolled it up on a can of starch.

Then I slid the can out. Easy peasy and ready to pack!

I think I’m done kitting things up to take…..but you never know.

Honestly, packing makes me cranky.

Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

These two are soaking up the sun before we go.

Have a great day!

Machines for Sale

Update: Both machines are now sold.

We are getting back to the work of downsizing. I have decided to part with my beloved Juki TL-2000Qi. This is a workhorse piecing machine and it is fast.

It comes with everything you see below, as well as a dozen bobbins. The knee lifter is for the presser foot. The walking foot is not included. It is in Arizona. 🙄

If you come pick it up, you can take this desk for free. I’ve used this for a Bernina 1030, Singer 201, Singer 301, Featherweight, and this Juki.

I’m also selling my lightly used White Superlock 2000ATS Serger.

I’m asking $500 for the Juki and $175 for the serger. Pickup is in Saginaw, Michigan. Please email me at sew4given@aol.com if you are interested or have questions. I’m still struggling with responding to comments.

Thanks for taking a look! Have a great day!

Something Scrappy

I was in the mood to use some Repro 30s fabrics. That always seems to happen in the spring!

So I chopped them up into rectangles. They will finish at 1 1/2” by 3.” I cut up an equal number of yellow rectangles.

Now I’m sewing them into pairs.

Have a great day!

A Tiny Finish

When I was testing out my walking feet, I decided to make a little something. And here it is!

The squares finish at 1 1/2”. They were easily grabbed from my bins of 2 inch squares so it took no time at all to piece this little top.

I quilted it on my Babylock QPC. Here is the back.

Since I sold Friday, I won’t have a long arm to use this summer. That is the reason I’m focused on finding a good machine quilting set up.

Have a great day!
