Leader/Ender

I just can’t leave it alone! I could have made this much bigger, but my plan is to donate this to Project Linus. Now, I really need to go get something else done.

Saguaro Ranch Park

The mister and I visited this park in Glendale on Saturday. The ranch was built in the late 1800s by a man who brought his family out due to his son’s TB.

It is really beautiful.

And I found quilts!

This feathered star was stunning.

This and That

The mister and I did this puzzle this week. It was a tough one, but so cool!

I found this Bernina at Goodwill. It was only the machine. I tried it out with the cord from my other Bernina. It stitches, but clearly something is wrong with it. I’ll play with it a bit more. It was only $16 so I’m not out much if I can’t get it working.

I’m not a Barbie person, never have been. But she was cute and cheap at a local sale.

We’ve been hiking a lot lately.

Love going with Daughter #2 and SIL.

Our neighbor gave us some citrus. Check out the size of that orange! So good!

Throwback Thursday

Here is a look back at a post from March 2016. Enjoy!

It stopped raining just long enough to take a few pictures of my finished table runner the other day. I found it very difficult to get pictures showing the true color of the hand dyed fabrics I used. This first one is the closest to being true.


I used the Quick Curve Ruler and Metro Hoops pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful.

I also used their QCR Curvit template for the machine quilting.

I used Glide Thread and Pellon 80/20 batting.

These pictures taken inside do not show the true colors but I love the way they show off the texture.

Hexie UFO

Remember this? I got this far and quilt working on it.

It currently measures about 80” by 90”. I found this fabric somewhere and thought about using it as a border.

But I’m kind of over this project. So now I’m thinking about quilting the top as is and using this for the binding.

I’d love to get this done. I’ll think about it a bit.

New Leader/Ender Project

I have lots of 2 1/2” squares, so I decided to use them up in a new leader/ender project.

I’ve been sewing them into random pairs and tossing them in this enamelware bin.

Then I started making these blocks.

I’m not sure where I’ll go from here, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something.

Slow Stitching Monday~ Pink Strippie

Out and About

My beautiful sister and her hubby came to visit us last week.

Here is BIL in Sedona.

We had fun playing tourist and sharing this gorgeous state with them.

Sedona never disappoints. The weather was overcast, but it seemed to make the red rocks appear even more vivid.
