Since I’ve been playing so much with solids lately, I thought it would be fun to look back at a few others I’ve made in the past. Enjoy!

Have a great day!

I’m still working on piecing my Two by Four top together.

But I couldn’t resist playing with the leftovers from that top! Seriously, the scraps from one quilt lead to the next just like sourdough starter!

I think I’d like to add some large borders to this and quilt with perle cotton. The black looks good, but I might see if I can find anything else around here.

And believe it or not, I have more leftovers!

It never ends.
Have a great day!
That’s what I’ve decided to call this one. I finished the checkerboard pieces and debated about using gray or black for the background.

The black won. I did get the pieces cut.

And they are all arranged and clipped into rows for piecing.Probably one at a time.

Have a great day!
We have been working hard on the house, which leaves less sewing time than I’d like. But sew I must, for my sanity. I thought I’d share a bit how I’m getting this project closer to the finish line in the midst of the chaos.
I made all the blocks I could like this with my leftover pieces.

But remember that bin of leftover binding strips? They were the perfect size to make some more. I took about 20 minutes one night pairing up strips to sew together. Another day I took another 20 minutes to sew them together.

During another work break, I pressed them.

A day or so later, I subcut my pieces. This took WAY too long. I left my 2 1/2” strip die back in Arizona by mistake. Big mistake!

I could have had this done in one quarter of the time it took with my rotary cutter and ruler!

During my next work break, I’ll sew some of these together.
Have a great day!
I’m finally doing a little hand stitching!

I’m using perle cotton.

This is what I’m using to mark the stitching in the border. I much prefer my Hera marker, a gift from Sweet Ila, but I accidentally left it in Arizona.

This is what the back looks like.

Have a great day!
It’s been a crazy month, but I still got some things done!

Two are tops so they aren’t technically finishes, but I’ll take it!
Have a great day!
My little bow tie quilt is done and Willy seems to enjoy it!

This was a good little bit to practice my machine quilting. I was hating it while I worked on it.

But I guess it is okay. This backing showcases every single wobble, but I had it on hand.

After all is said and done, I think it turned out rather charming.

Far from perfect, but I’m happy with it. It will live on my table in the RV.

Have a great day!
I found some leftover 16 patches in my solid bin as well. I decided to take them apart into blocks like this.

I could lay them out like this:

Or maybe this…

I’m pretty sure I don’t have anything here to use as a background.
It’s good mindless sewing anyway. Have a great day!
I haven’t forgotten these. So much potential here.

Some of these are leftovers from this quilt:

I still love that one.

None of the above are clicking for me.
I’m wondering if these could be worked into a log cabin somehow….

Lots to ponder. I’m going to leave these on the wall to marinate for a while. Have a great day!
