Hmmmm…..

This was the idea I had in mind when I cut out my Drunkard’s path pieces.

But as I began stitching blocks, I matched up pieces with a lot of contrast.

Now, I’m not loving this so much. Ugh. I need to decide what to do before making anymore blocks.

The thought of digging out the seam ripper is decidedly unappealing.

Have a great day!

Traveling

Mr. Wonderful and I recently went on a trip to Texas. We met up with his sister and BIL there. We had a wonderful time! We visited Fort Davis.

Enjoyed incredible views at our RV park in Alpine.

Visited Big Bend National Park. This is Santa Elena Canyon. To the left is Mexico and to the right is the US. The Rio Grande runs between.

We hiked here and the views were stunning!

These wild burros were in the park.

The mister and BIL walked across the Rio Grande to visit Boquillas, Mexico.

Here it is.

I would have gone, but my passport needs updating. I’ll sure more soon.

Hav3 a great day!

This and That

Finally had a chance to get some wind therapy on Glory.

Willy is so weird. This is his place to go when he needs alone time.

This flag was absolutely massive! I had to take pictures.

Winslow has her favorite spot as well.

Here is some food for thought.

Have a great day!

Drunkards Path

Remember last spring when I started cutting these?

I used this die from AccuQuilt .

I was using this pile of batik squares.

Well, I finally got around to cutting the rest of the pile!

I think I have enough pieces for around 150ish blocks.

Have a great day!

Well, well, well….

I dug in my box of solid scraps, only to find only the top layer of scraps were solid! These were underneath.

Undeterred, I found another bin of solids and cut these. There are about 16 different sets of solids. I need 18 squares of each color.

And I found another bin of print squares.

That was all before I started to tackle this mess.

I ended up cutting even more squares and neatly folding the rest. I’ll cut these further when I decide what dies to use.

Before I go, I’ve been asked about the fabric store I shared last weekend. It is SAS Fabrics. The address is 1111 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014.

That’s better. Have a great day!

Heard Museum ~ Pottery and Sculpture

More images from the Heard Museum. So much quilty inspiration!

I loved this sculpture….perhaps because I so relate to this. 😂

This too was a favorite. A beautiful piece capturing all the emotions of motherhood.

Finish It Up Tuesday ~ Woven Hearts Quilt

My quilt for the Fat Quarter Shop Woven Hearts Quilt Along is done!

I used Ginghams from Lori Holt.

The intense sun can do funky things with photos here.

I knew I wanted to do some graffiti style quilting in the negative space, but I am seriously out of practice!

Things got better toward the bottom of the quilt.

Love this gingham binding.

And this giant gingham backing!

This quilt finished at 70 by 70 inches.

Have a great day!

Kitting Up

I decided to work on kitting up this quilt. I think it would be a good RV project for next summer, if I can make myself wait that long to work on it!

So it’s time to tackle cutting these up.

The first quilt I made used 2 1/2” cut squares, but perhaps I should go smaller this time.

I have this bin of print squares already cut.

And I need to process these scraps.

Just cutting will take a while; I will probably work on this in bits and pieces here and there.

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

I finished the quilting on my Woven Stars project for FQS. I made lots of binding so I could use some for another project.

I’m glad to have my Bernina handy for binding again.

I hope to finish the hand stitching today. I had to share a photo of this corner. How often does that happen?

Have a great day!
