February Wrap-Up

Four finishes this month! I also made decent progress on a few other things, so I’m happy.

This is definitely my favorite.

Or maybe this one is my favorite!

All small quilts, but I’ll be making up for that with a huge quilt next month.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Diamonds

After all my fussing, this turned out okay. It isn’t my favorite, but it’s done.

I still love this floral print.

I used a plain backing.

It does show the quilting well.

Have a great day !

I did it!

The mister was working at Daughter #2s house and I made myself work on these borders.

It was no small feat, but it is done. You can see in the photo below how huge this quilt is.

I also figured out a backing. I picked up this solid yellow. Sadly, I have to piece three lengths to get a piece big enough. Wish me luck.

Have a great day!

Trip Around the World Borders

I’ve been struggling with borders for this top. I need to add borders to get this up to king size.

I found the fabric on the far right. It is the first fabric I bought this year. The blue was in my stash. I will use it for the inner border.

Now I need to find the motivation to cut and sew these.

Have a great day!

Tree of Life Update

I now have four blocks finished.

And the next four are cut out.

I really have no idea how many of these I will make. Once I have this next group made, I may play around with some layouts.

Have a great day!

Unstuck or Just Plowing Ahead

I’ve decided this definitely needed a border. I’ve tried out so many pieces from my stash, and this is the best I could come up with.

This is the pantograph I’m using.

Let’s get this thing done!

Have a great day!

QuiltCon 2025 ~ Part 1

The quilts at QuiltCon were amazing! The featured quilter was Tara Faughnan. Here are some of the quilts from her exhibit.

The tiny stripes were actually fused.

I was surprised to see that she often quilts with metallic thread. They were all lovely.

Have a great day!

Enjoying the Back Roads

We continue to enjoy exploring Arizona.

We love hunting for rocks, hiking, and going off road in Oscar.

I don’t know what this next stone is, but it is one of the first I have tumbled.

The white stones below are chalcedony. The brown are agates.

Have a great day!

This and That

I couldn’t agree more….

Ugh, George’s eye is missing. Still a fun puzzle with lots of presidents hidden in the scene.

I loved this one too.

However, one missing piece and two extras? Weird.

I found a yard of my favorite print at Goodwill for $1.49!

My kids always used to tell, “Shotgun!” When it was time to go somewhere.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Feedsack Chain

I think this is one of the best little quilts I’ve made in a long time.

I started it on a whim using this lovely tangerine fabric and vintage feed sack fabrics.

As suggested by a sweet blog reader, I used the channel locks on my Gammill for the crosshatch quilting. Thank you!

I even found a perfect piece of vintage fabric for the backing.

I will be on the hunt for yards and yards of fabric the color of this solid background. I love it.

Have a great day!
