Finish It Up Friday ~ Hearts All Around

My second quilt made with Art Haus Fabrics from Connecting Threads Art Haus fabric is done!

I like this way better than my original idea. I used the same quilting design that I used on the last one. It’s my current favorite.

I had prepped a different binding, but I liked this one better.

I just think it’s fun. 😄

And here are the two quilts I made together.

It’s always fun to use something a bit out of your wheel house.

Have a great day!

SMT Progress

My blocks are done and I have quite a few extra. My background is an older Mary Koval print. I cut as many as I could, but I’m a bit short if I want to use all the pieced blocks that I made.

I thought about making a border like this.

Or even creating a faux border using alternate blocks in a different fabric.

Ultimately, I decided to save the extras for another quilt and go with my original plan.

Have a great day!

Tree of Life

I don’t know why I’ve procrastinated so long on this. But finally it went from this:

To this:

To this:

Now I need to decide on the next step. It currently measures about 54 inches square. Maybe I’ll procrastinate some more and leave it until fall. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have a great day!

Hearts

I went for random fabric placement here!

These large blocks finish at 24 inches square. I thought they might need sashing. Or maybe rearranging?

Hmmmm…. Time for more coffee and thinking.

Have a great day!

Another Try

I spent some time messing around with the pieces I had that were cut wrong and came up with this.

Now I have things ready to sew together down in the kitchen while I keep an eye on Gracie.

Fingers crossed I don’t have any more disasters!

Have a great day!

Vintage Bow Tie

Another vintage top for possible hand quilting. This one is quirky!

It is hand pieced.

It appears that all the fabrics were recycled from clothing.

This top screams THRIFT!

Still thinking about it.

Have a great day!

This and That

So this happened last week, I posted a photo of one of our cacti in bloom and it made it to the morning news!

Here is the original photo.

Doesn’t Gracie look pitiful?

She’s decided she likes to carry her food dish around.

Did you know it is JollyBarDay at Fat Quarter Shop ?

I saw this on Facebook Marketplace. Isn’t it beautiful? I might have to make this.

But I think it could be boring to make.

And I leave you with a good word.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Art Haus

Done! I’ve had this project on my to do list for a while. I love how it turned out!

I really like using solids other than white for backgrounds.

I used the last of this print for backing.

And binding. I made a lot of binding so you’ll see it again.

The texture of the quilting is just lovely.

Have a great day!

Ugh!

I had an idea for another Project Linus quilt to make out of this Art Haus fabric. It was late; I should have gone to bed. I did the whole thing wrong. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Now I’m trying to figure out what I can do with the pieces I cut.

Hmmm….nothing is clicking yet. Wish me luck.

Blocks are Done!

My 4 inch blocks for the Scrappy meets Thrifty Challenge are done!

I ended up with 180 pieced blocks, but only 144 alternate red blocks.

I love how it looks.

But I need to figure out another fabric to add.

That blue isn’t working for me. Time to shop the stash.

Have a great day!
