Lori over at Humble Quilts is hosting another quilt along! I love these. She does a great job with instructions and keeping things moving. This quilt starts with 1 1/2” squares. I have a whole bin full!
While talking on the phone with my sister, I sorted out matching pairs.
And I’ve started stitching them into four patches.
I can’t wait to see what the next step is! Have a great day!
I finished sewing my blocks. This was my intended layout. It is a pattern called “Clippings” by Thimbles and Needles.
But I decided to play a bit with these units before committing.
I got lazy and didn’t finish this layout.
But it would be a good one to make it bigger. Otherwise, I’ll need to add borders to get it up to a good size for a baby quilt. Have to think some more.
Have a great day!
As I was casting about for something to interest me, I spied this charm pack that has been languishing for far too long.
I picked out this gray solid to go with and got to cutting.
This came in handy! Mr. Wonderful got a 3D printer and made a thread cutter for me.
When you remove the cap, you can see the imbedded razor blade.
It’s awesome for cutting threads when chain piecing.
I’ll need to think of more things he can make for me. 😊
Have a great day!
I was asked about my pattern for knitting dish cloths. I simplified a common pattern I’ve seen around the interwebs.
Here is my feeble attempt at pattern writing:
Cast on 3 stitches
Knit across
K1 Make 1 K2
K1 Make 1, K the rest. Repeat for 45ish rows. ( depends on how big you want your cloth)
K1, K2 together, K the rest of the row. Repeat until three stitches left.
Cast off and weave in ends.
I use size 8 needles and cotton yarn. They look better after they’ve been washed. As you can see, I’m not a great knitter. This little “pattern” requires zero thought, so it’s good for working on while watching TV or chatting with friends.
Have a great day!
First up, a couple answers to some recent questions. I was asked about the palm tree photo from my previous post. That was taken in my backyard. 😊
I was also asked about using my BaptistFan design boards. There is a definite learning curve with them. Mine are definitely not perfect. I hope to do a post soon showing exactly how they work as I’d get a lot of questions about them.
I finished another puzzle!
Sunrise from the plane when I traveled home.
I saw this beautiful mosaic in the MPS airport.
Have you ever had this? It’s the best cheese popcorn ever! My sister brings me some nearly every time I see her. 😊
And before I go, AccuQuilt has the best deal on Studio Dies at the moment!
Have a great day!

Sometimes, I really overthink things.

She was SO right! I love the fans on this quilt.
The binding was a bit of an unconventional choice, but it works. I wanted the binding to frame the quilt, but not scream, look at me!
As a reminder, this was the inspiration quilt. mine is much smaller.
Have a great day!
I bought two yards of this fabric awhile back. I thought I had the perfect plan for it. Nope. My plan required me to chop this up into tiny pieces.
But the prints would disappear. It’s really cool stuff. It has eight different coordinating prints in each yard.
I cut the prints apart and stacked them up. Now they are ready to cut when I get inspired.
I might use this die.
I also have these prints that would go well.
Maybe I should check my Pinterest boards.
Have a great day!
I came home from my trip to find the best sort of package waiting for me!
Just look at all the lovely vintage nine patches that my friend, Janice sent to me. Here are a few close ups.
I love that they all have red centers. Check out this fun print!
Tiny stitches.
She also included some extra squares to make more blocks.
I’m just giddy over these! Thanks again, Janice!
Have a great day!
This was a good month for finishes!
That was partly due to the fact that I had tops to finish that I had pieced in the RV this summer.
Have a great day!
I’ve been trying to come up with a quilting plan for this little bit.
Some sashing ideas….
Some block ideas.
Maybe just Baptist Fans.
Or a grid.
Hmmmm….
Have a great day!
