I went for random fabric placement here!

These large blocks finish at 24 inches square. I thought they might need sashing. Or maybe rearranging?

Hmmmm…. Time for more coffee and thinking.
Have a great day!

I spent some time messing around with the pieces I had that were cut wrong and came up with this.

Now I have things ready to sew together down in the kitchen while I keep an eye on Gracie.

Fingers crossed I don’t have any more disasters!
Have a great day!
Another vintage top for possible hand quilting. This one is quirky!

It is hand pieced.

It appears that all the fabrics were recycled from clothing.

This top screams THRIFT!

Still thinking about it.
Have a great day!
So this happened last week, I posted a photo of one of our cacti in bloom and it made it to the morning news!

Here is the original photo.

Doesn’t Gracie look pitiful?

She’s decided she likes to carry her food dish around.

Did you know it is JollyBarDay at Fat Quarter Shop ?

I saw this on Facebook Marketplace. Isn’t it beautiful? I might have to make this.

But I think it could be boring to make.

And I leave you with a good word.

Have a great day!
Done! I’ve had this project on my to do list for a while. I love how it turned out!

I really like using solids other than white for backgrounds.

I used the last of this print for backing.

And binding. I made a lot of binding so you’ll see it again.

The texture of the quilting is just lovely.

Have a great day!
I had an idea for another Project Linus quilt to make out of this Art Haus fabric. It was late; I should have gone to bed. I did the whole thing wrong. 🤦🏻♀️

Now I’m trying to figure out what I can do with the pieces I cut.

Hmmm….nothing is clicking yet. Wish me luck.
My 4 inch blocks for the Scrappy meets Thrifty Challenge are done!

I ended up with 180 pieced blocks, but only 144 alternate red blocks.

I love how it looks.

But I need to figure out another fabric to add.

That blue isn’t working for me. Time to shop the stash.
Have a great day!
Did you guess the block?

And this is why I left them as half blocks. With a half drop, you get the tesselation going on.

Final layout is yet to be determined.
Have a great day!
This is not my usual sewing set up. That little black furball you see in the background below, caused me to move to the kitchen table.

Have I mentioned how much I love this Essential Thread from Connecting Threads ? They have really improved it since I first started buying it many years ago. It is finer, smoother, less linty, and I haven’t had it break on me yet. Better yet, it’s on sale 25% off through tomorrow!

I also picked up this little Oliso iron for travel sewing. Did you know these are available through AccuQuilt ?

You need these pieces for one block for this quilt.

I’m making this top with half blocks. You will see why soon.

Have a great day!

Here is another possibility for hand quilting this summer. I just love the overall design!

But it has issues.

Lots of seams are coming apart.

But the prints are fantastic!

It is all hand sewn.

This purple fabric is see through in the light areas.

Love this block!

Sigh….so beautiful and yet so much work needs to be done. I’m not sure I have the patience for these repairs right now.
Have a great day!
