Log Cabin Update

I spent a lot of time debating borders for this. You see, I’d like to get a king sized bed so I thought it would be good to make a king sized quilt. The bed below is a queen.

Then I decided I just wanted this done. So I finally got it loaded.

This is the pantograph I decided to use.

It’s very slow going.

Before I go, I wanted to let you know about this great deal from Connecting Threads .

I’ve been loving this thread! It is very smooth and doesn’t create a bunch of lint. I’ve found it to be as good as Aurifil, at a much lower price. At an additional 25% off, I plan to stock up!

Have a great day!

Tiny SMT Update

It’s so hard to leave this alone! My cutting is now all done.

I wanted to use this pink as the background of my larger blocks, but I didn’t have enough. It should be perfect for these smaller blocks.

Now, I need to pack this up and put it away for RV season! Have a great day!

Hand Quilting

I think I want to baste another vintage top for hand quilting while we travel this summer. I do love this four patch!

It needs a few repairs. See the hole?

And this block needs the seams resewn. There are probably a few more that I haven’t found yet.

The worst issue is that it doesn’t lay flat.

I need to remove and re-sew the borders. You can see by the stitching below that it is machine sewn.

I thought I might quilt it with this perle cotton.

It doesn’t look too bad.

I’m going to look at a few other options before I commit.

Have a great day!

This and That

I’m a winner! I won this bundle of Farmhouse FQs from Andover on an Instagram giveaway.

Mr. Wonderful is the best cook! Can you tell the rice is formed into a heart shape? So yummy!

Another puzzle finish. I remember the commercials for many of these cereals from my childhood. It was pretty rare when any of these actually ended up on the shelves of my childhood home.

I thought this was so good!

I saw this at Goodwill. I laughed and laughed!

We dog sat for three of my grand dogs this week.

Bambi

Winnie

Milo

Finish It Up Friday ~ Little Hourglass

I finished my little bit!

This little vintage piece was my inspiration.

Here is mine after quilting on the long arm.

Something felt off. So I trimmed the borders down before binding.

I think I should have trimmed a bit more.

Have a great day!

Tiny SMT

This is my inspiration for making the Tiny Scrappy Meets Thrift blocks.

I have been cutting pieces for the size quilt that I want to make.

These are the dies I used from my AccuQuilt 4” Qube. I love these Qubes! I have all the basic dies I need on my shelf.

I want this one to finish about the same size as this quilt so I can change it out.

Have a great day!

A Little Bit

While kitting up the quilt I shared yesterday, I cut out a mini that I’ve had on my to do list.

These hourglass blocks finish at 2 inches.

Kitting Up

I’m kitting up a few projects to take in the RV this summer. This one has been on my bucket list for a while.

This is my fabric pull. I’m going to make a small version with six inch blocks.

These are the AccuQuilt dies I am using from the 4” Qube.

I probably wont kit up as much for this summer. But then, you never know. 😁

And here is another Gracie picture.

Have a great day!

Welcome to the Family, Gracie Bear!

Oops! We did it again!

We stopped at our local family owned pet supply store. They often have puppies sourced locally. This sweet little girl is now 10 weeks old. Her momma is full miniature poodle, and we have no idea who or what her daddy is! This store took the puppies to find homes for them.

The mister took one look and he was smitten. 😍

Winslow and Willy have always been my dogs, though they do love the mister. But he needed a dog of his very own.

And this little girl fit the bill and stole his heart.

These photos are a bit deceptive. She is all black except for a few white hairs on her chest. The sun through the palm tree makes her look white/gray in places.

It’s hard to photograph a black puppy!

So far, this is the only photo I’ve gotten with all three pups. Winslow and Willy are still a bit unsure about this spunky, little upstart.

I’m sure they will soon be fast friends.

Have a great day!

He is risen.

And that makes all the difference.
