Almost Finished Friday ~ Star Pop

My top is done. It is a great size for donating to project Linus. The pattern is called Star Pop and it is available from Emily Dennis.

I never pressed the top after sewing the rows together. My 12” square pressing pad works well, but not so much for bigger things.

This is about as big as I want to go sewing in the RV. Small projects and blocks are much easier.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday

Here is another look back. Gosh, I love this one. Enjoy!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Vintage Many Trips Around the World

Posted on May 8, 2020 by katyquilts

I still can’t quite believe this is done! A sweet online friend and blog reader, Jan, gifted these blocks to me several years ago.

It took me a long time to decide how to put them together.

I used a plain muslin on the back.

It really shows off the quilting.

Someone put so much work into these blocks.

It certainly looks like spring to me!

Dear Jan, I’m so thankful for your generous heart! I think my emails to you have been bouncing. I hope you know how much I appreciate these beautiful blocks!

Just for fun, here are a few pics taken after washing.

Have a great day everyone

Star Pop Progress

Sewing again! I changed my previous post about this, but wanted to let you know here as well. This pattern is called Star Pop, NOT Sparkle Pop.

And I have a helper again today. 😄

I placed my blocks on the design wall (bed) and, oops!

I got that fixed and I’m ready to sew my rows.

Have a great day!

Leader/Enders ~ Tiny SMT

Remember the Scrappy Meets Thrift challenge? These are the pieces I cut for my second version.

I’m using this as a leader/ender project.

So far, I have 25 two inch blocks.

It’s a perfect leader/ender project.

Have a great day!

Sparkle Pop

Correction! This is called Star Pop NOT Sparkle Pop.

I’ve long admired Emily Dennis ‘ pattern called Sparkle Pop. I rarely work from patterns, so you know I must love this one!

Anyway, I figured a way to make it using my dies. I won’t give die numbers or measurements since this isn’t my pattern.

Time to start stitching!

Have a great day!

Slow Stitching Sunday

This quilt is difficult to photograph.

I have one row of fans completed.

Time to turn the corner on to a short side.

And some words of wisdom.

Have a great day!

This and That

If I were to have business cards…. 😂. Just kidding!

Bonnie from Quiltville posted this chuckle!

These trees in the Midwest are something else! This is a 200 year old oak. The trunk is massive.

Too funny!

And I leave you with a picture of Gracie wearing her new shirt. She is bad to the bone!

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday…..Almost!

I got my little top completed, minus the borders.

I didn’t pack enough of the blue to do the borders.

Here is a reminder of my inspiration quilt. I could do narrower borders, but it wouldn’t be the same. So I’ll wait until we get home.

I’m still calling this a finish.

Have a great day!

Throwback Thursday

This is the pattern I planned to follow for my Oops Baby Quilt! 😂 Maybe next time I’ll get it right. Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Moda Love

Posted on May 29, 2020 by katyquilts

I should call this the 24 Hour quilt! It was so fast. I started it at noon one day, and I had it quilted and bound by noon the next.

I used a Pottery Barn duvet cover on the back.

And the extra binding I made came in handy.

I kept the quilting simple.

This finished at 64 inches square. Have a great day

Progress!

This picture looks a lot brighter than it really is!

I’m really enjoying making these blocks. And this sweet baby girl. Had to share another photo. After taking this, she crawled in my lap so sewing time was over.

But I’ve definitely made progress. Just a few more to go.

Have a great day!
