August Wrap-Up

I managed three real finishes this month.

The one above went on the quilt ladder as soon as we got home!

I finished this little bit on the road.

And this one was the first on and off the frame when we got here.

I also finished this small top. It will be a completed quilt soon.

Have a great day!

This and That

This little guy startled me at a campground. He was less than two feet away!

You don’t see these every day.

I forgot I took this photo of Mr. Wonderful.

On a random road in South Dakota.

The mister makes wonderful meals!

Did you know I make bioengineered mayo? 😂

Have a great day!

California and the Redwoods

I loved visiting the Redwoods!

They are truly awe inspiring.

I felt so very small.

We stayed in Crescent City, California, very close to the beach.

It was gorgeous.

Then we headed back to Oregon for a couple nights.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Vintage Shirting Bricks

My hand quilting project is done! I actually finished it just two days before arriving home.

It was a great travel project.

I used perle cotton and a large Baptist Fan stencil from Fun with Barb.

Gracie approves!

I bought this vintage top years ago on eBay.

It is very cozy! Have a great day!

Quilting Again!

I surely missed my long arm while we were gone! But it is back in action. Next up? My Tiny Scrappy Meets Thrift Challenge quilt.

I’ve been working on piecing blocks using the Spring Nectar fabrics from Connecting Threads also.

It’s good to be back. Have a great day!

Finish It Up Wednesday ~ Star Pop

I pieced this small top when we were traveling in Michigan. It is finally finished for real!

I found the perfect binding fabric in my stash!

The blue backing is not a perfect match. But it was leftover from another project and the perfect size, or so I thought!

This is cutting it too close and why your long armer means it when she says your backing must be bigger than the top!

Anyway, this is the pantograph I used.

This was a great quilt for using a layer cake.

Have a great day!

Leaders/Enders

Remember these?

I decided to use this as a leader/ender project.

It’s easy piecing and I have no timeline. That makes it perfect for a project of this type.

Have a great day!

Home

I don’t think there is a more beautiful word! We’ve actually been home for a few weeks now, but I had posts scheduled ahead, so I let them run their course.

As soon as I start seeing saguaros, I know we are close!

It was the trip of a lifetime. But it’s good to be home. Gracie is loving the backyard.

I missed my sewing room, but it took a bit to actually get back to work in there. It always does.

While I was gone, this beautiful bundle arrived from Connecting Threads

I purchased this from AccuQuilt before we left and now I’m finally starting to check it out.

I have a few more travel posts coming up, but not many. Have a great day!

The Oregon Coast

I love the ocean!

My friend, Kelly, used to live in OR and gave us great tips on where to go.

Gracie is crazy about the beach!

This column is in Astoria. The history of the area is engraved on it. You can buy little gilders to fly from the deck and of course, Mr. Wonderful had to try it!

This bridge crosses the Columbia River into Washington State. Yes, we went to say we had been there.

We also stopped at the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory for the tour.

Willy wasn’t a fan of the water, but he enjoyed all the beach smells.

Winslow loved the mud!

This little quilt shop was in Cannon Beach. Very nice!

And behind me, you can see the Haystack, as it is called.

Have a great day!
