I’m excited to share this post with you today! This was an exhibit at the recent AQS show. You all know how inspiring I find antique quilts! Enjoy!
Since my last name starts with S, I feel I need to make my own version of this next one!
Have a great day!
These are coming along! I’m starting to think about settings now.
I have about half of the blocks done. I’m not sure I have enough of the fabric I used for the corner triangles. Sounds like another design challenge!
Before I go, I wanted to share this great deal from AccuQuilt with you.

More AQS quilts! There were so many pictorial quilts at this show. I would not know where to even begin with quilts like this. I’m truly amazed by them. Enjoy!
Have a great day!
I have more photos from the AQS show in Grand Rapids to share with you. These are my picks from what I would consider traditional quilts. Enjoy!
The workmanship was incredible! Have a great day!
Done! This quick finish turned out quite well after all! For a while there, I wasn’t sure about the colors. This is definitely outside of my wheelhouse.
This is adapted from a pattern by Barbara Blackman called The Lincoln Museum Quilt. My blocks are smaller than hers.
I kept the quilting very simple.
The backing is Kona Stone.
Have a great day!
I found a little bin of 2 inch cream squares. I decided to pair them with Civil War Repro squares to make four patches as a leader/ender project.
I used up all the solid squares and ended up with around 120 four patches.
I cut some triangles to put them on point.
I guess that is my next phase of the leader/ender process!
Have a great day!
I’ve finished my blocks! They were so much fun to make.
Now I’m trying to decide on the background blocks.
I’m not in love with any of these. Guess I’ll keep shopping in my stash. Have a great day,
I sorted all my pieces into block sets.
I even have over half sewn. They go together pretty fast.
So far, I’m not in love. Maybe I just need to get more blocks finished.
Have a great day!
I’ve had a quilt on my bucket list for a while and decided this FQ bundle should be perfect for it.
After my calculations, I decided I had just enough to make the quilt I wanted with pretty much nothing leftover. These are the dies I used.
I wasn’t quite as careful as I should have been and ended up piecing scraps together for a few pieces. That’s okay. I really did end up with nothing but tiny bits too small to keep after cutting!
I should end up with 42 ten inch blocks for a quilt that will be. 60” by 70”.
Stay tuned!
This month has flown by! I’ve been busy, busy with sewing, grands, and home stuff. I did manage to finish this for a friend.
I played with pixels.
Finished a little quilt, cut out earlier this summer.
Still thrilled with this little bit, made from vintage fabrics.
My favorite finish has to be this postage stamps quilt, called Pen Pals.
Have a great day!
