And it’s done!

I’m quite tickled with the quilting. I love hanging diamonds, but it isn’t easy to do on a big quilt.

I had fun putting together different combinations for the 9 patches.

Have a great day!

I decided to quilt my little mini by machine, but I’m hand binding it.

I’ve also marked more pieces for my hand piecing project. I think I’ll have the top done by September.

Only seven more rows to add to this, then I can add it to the other half.

Have a great day!
My show is up!

I finally finished the work on this quilt. You can see one piece had to be completely replaced. It’s pretty obvious, but part of the quilt’s story.

I also had to replace bits of binding here and there.

This is do true! We never fully know another person’s story.

How cool is this pillow I found?

The three amigos have enjoyed lots of time together this summer. That’s Lola on the left. She is Winslow’s sister and littermate. She belongs to Daughter #1. They sure have fun together!

Have a great day!
This is the final piece I created for my local solo show. It might be my favorite! I’m calling it, Wish.

I love the extra poof in the yellow.

You can see here that I quilted the background first, then did the appliqué, and finished with a facing.

Have a great day!
Wow! I can’t believe this post was ten years ago! That’s crazy! Hope you enjoy this post from August 3rd, 2013. Have a great day!
Yesterday was a full day. I drove down to Lansing for a QOV sew day and came home to make dinner and finish the batik quilt.
It. Is. Finished.

I put it on my bed this morning to take some pictures and the quilting DOES show in the morning light.

The last two pictures show the truest color, though not exact. It is more purple. My bed is queen size and the quilt is not centered on it. I hope to get some better pictures before I mail it out on Monday. Hope she likes it!
These little blocks are fun to make!

I’m supposed to make 4 blocks like this. But you know I’m not good at following directions.

I realized my little quilt would be too big for this little bed that way.

So I might just set the blocks like this.

We shall see.
Have a great day!
A friend gave me a half dozen of these little quilt kits last year. I have completed four, and this one was up next.

I was supposed to cut my squares 1 1/4”. Um…no. I used my die cutter to cut 1 1/2” squares instead.

I have plenty of squares already cut in this size, so I’m not worried about running out of fabric.

This is the rest of the fabric in the kit.

It’s a start!

Have a great day!
Here are my finishes for July.

Hmmmm….doesn’t look like much, but I did make progress on several other projects.
Have a great day!
I finished the appliqué on the center Star. I think I want to add more to it.

I had a wild hair idea that I could use these blocks with it.

Nope. But possibly these.

I also considered making more of Cleopatras Fan blocks for the corners. No, no, no.

This might need some closet time. Have a great day!
I’ve been digging through old quilts and came across this one. I should try to get better pics to show the quilting.

Mr. Wonderful and I have been riding every chance we get. We happened upon this old fast station last weekend. I totally understand my dad’s obsession with his motorcycle now.

E2 never fails to make me laugh. He’s a Nana’s boy and saved me a seat next to him at the restaurant last week.

E3 and I made pudding together. Kids love using these egg beater/ mixers. My kids loved it when they were little.

And this little green dishes? My mom made pudding and jello in them when my siblings and I were small.

Winslow loves raspberries. She checks to see if there are any ripe ones every time we go out the back door.

I recently finished this book and quite enjoyed it. You may as well.

Have a great day!
