Finish It Up Friday…..Sort of….

The top of my Trip Around the World quilt is done!

I didn’t get it quilted. That will have to wait until I return to Arizona in the fall.

I’m not crazy about the middle block in the top row, but I’m going to live with it. I may add a border yet, but I have all summer to think about it.

Have a great day!

The Journey North

You may have figured out by now that we are back in Michigan. I had prepared and scheduled many blog posts ahead, because I knew we would be busy. Here is a quick summary of our trip north with Dora.

The San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff.

Walnut Canyon National Monument.

Meteor Crater.

Our first campsite in Winslow, Arizona.

Petrified Forest

Painted Desert Inn

Lots of quilty inspiration!

More to come!

Have a great day!

TAW Again

It’s coming along, albeit, slowly. The last section is laid out on the design wall.

Once this is done, it will measure about 89 inches square. So I need to decide if I want to add a border or not. I have plenty of work to do while I think about that.

Have a great day!

April Wrap-Up

Not a bad showing for a very busy month!

I’m so glad this UFO is finally finished.

A couple minis…

A couple baby quilts….

A good sized mug rug.

Have a great day!

TAW Progress

The mister went to Daughter #2s house to help with some landscaping, so I ended up with a whole day to sew. That kind of uninterrupted time was just what I needed to make progress on this. I started by laying out some more pieces.

I soon realized that I needed to turn things to fit on the design wall. Things still went off the edge!

So the rest of the quilt is planned out, I just have a lot more sewing to do.

Have a great day!

Slow Sunday Stitching

I haven’t forgotten this! And I have made progress, though it is nearly impossible to see here.

Willy was helping. 😁

On the left side, I have about 9 straight lines left to quilt. On the upper right, I have some diagonal lines left to quilt.

I do love the look of hanging diamonds.

Have a great day!

Finish It Up Friday ~ Two Madder Minis

Donezo! One off the bucket list and the other is a bonus.

The sun washed out the prints, but the quilting shows.

I used the same backing for both.

This photo shows the colors better.

I used the same binding on both as well.

Have a great day!

TAW

Remember these? I had all my blocks designed and partially sewn when I put them all away.

I needed a fabric to go between the blocks and finally made a decision.

The stripes are subtle compared to the prints in the blocks, but more interesting than a solid.

I finally started sewing again. It is slow going.

I had half of the first block sewn and had to decide which blocks would go adjacent and beneath it.

I don’t know if I’ll get this finished before we hit the road back to Michigan, but at least I got started. This one definitely can’t be done in a hurry.

Have a great day!

Leftovers

I both love and hate leftovers. I ended up with small triangles leftover and then needed to cut some more to go with them. Lois, you saw this coming!

It’s like cookies and milk; things never come out even!

But it will feel good to use these up instead of stashing them somewhere.

Have a great day!
