My New Toy

I came home from our trip to find Santa (aka Mister Wonderful) had brought me a new toy!

This is a 10” lapidary saw for cutting rocks. I have a grinder/flat lap machine on order as well, but it seems to be on a slow train.

Anyway, I couldn’t wait to try this out! I bought this geode in South Dakota last summer.

Ta daaaa! Not the most exciting geode, but still cool.

It’s hard to see in these photos, but this has a lot of purple in it.

Very cool inside!

This was a recent local find.

And cut open!

This is from one of my favorite hunting spots, called Saddle Mountain. This is called chalcedony.

It takes a long time to cut these, but it is so fun!

Here are a couple of videos the mister took.

I find it fascinating that when I cut open these rocks, I’m seeing something God created that no human has ever seen before. He is truly the most amazing creator!

Have a great day!
