Stuck

So here it is. I’m underwhelmed. I thought I would stop here.

But now I wonder if there is anything I can do to improve it. I don’t have anymore of that brown floral.

I do have this.

I bought this over 30 years ago and love it just as much now as I did then.

It would go, but do I want to sacrifice this for a quilt that is just so so? I have enough of this for borders of a large quilt. Or to make a strip quilt. I thought flying geese between. Ugh.

Just grabbed a few more border possibilities.

I don’t think I like any of these; however, I think a border is what this quilt needs.

I’m off to shop the stash. Have a great day!

A darker brown border would help pull the brown of the print to the visual forefront. The lighter colors are stealing the show right now.

    Love the Jinny Beyer print!

The setting squares are a lovely fabric! Would you consider a narrow light coloured border followed by a broader dark floral? I’m thinking it might provide enough contrast that the border and the setting squares don’t blend quite so much? Just a thought…

Lay out the pillar print next to it and see how you like it.

i agree it does need a border but none of those…try a blue maybe?

I love the various quilting motifs in your header picture!

Good luck on picking borders for your parallelogram quilt; you’ll come up with something viable. You always do!
