Finish It Up Friday ~ Vintage Gingham

Finishing these vintage blocks has been on my to do list for years. I do not know why I waited so long!

It was a very quick finish. I think part of my procrastination had to do with the stained blocks. You can definitely see the discoloration in these photos, all taken before washing.

I used plain muslin for the backing.

The following photos were taken after washing.

I love the texture!

The stains are improved, but definitely still there.

I do love it regardless. Especially after washing. It was 48 inches square before washing and 45 inches after washing!

Have a great day!

Pretty quilt, the orange peel quilting adds much charm. Rhonda Dort has a tutorial on her site, on washing and removing age stains from vintage fabrics. I have had good results using her methods. https://rhondadort.com/2021/07/23/cleaning-vintage-linens-and-quilts/
