Here is a throwback post showing my finishes in 2014. Enjoy!
2014 Wrap Up
Posted on January 4, 2015 by katyquilts
What a year it has been! So much to ponder from the last 12 months and so much to look forward to in the next 12. I like to take stock each year of what I have accomplished quiltingwise. This is primarily for my own information. It provides an easy to find record when I want to go back and refresh my memory on a project. I think it is good to set goals in different areas of your life, these are just my crafty/quilting goals.
Please note: The photos in this post are NOT to scale. I have pics of minis that are as large as the pic of the king sized quilt I finished!
Knitting
I wanted to knit 6 pair of socks this year……Bahahahahaha! I knit part of one sock! All year! I knit a mitten and a half that was supposed to be a Christmas gift, sorry Paul!
Books
My goal for the year was 100 books. ~ I only wrote down 80 titles. I read a few more than that but I missed writing several down.
And on to quilts…..
Service Quilts
I planned to make 6 Quilts of Valor completely on my own and I hoped to quilt 12 for others.
I ended up completing 7 QOVs this year and quilting 8 QOVs that were pieced by others. I didn’t get up the guts to sign up as a longarmer until November!
Her are my QOVs:

I wanted to quilt 10 tops for Quilts Beyond Borders this year. I quilted 9 tops for QBB and then came the great flood of 2014. I sent the finished quilts back along with the one unquilted top.
I also quilted two tops for our local comfort quilts group and made two twin size quilts for them. These quilts go to our local women’s shelter.
Small Quilt Talk Group
I continued to enjoy this group and I finished 10 of the 12 challenges and made all but one of them in vintage fabrics.

I completed quite a few other small quilts this year as well. Including The Midwinter Blues and Cascadia QALs hosted by Lori at Humble Quilts.

Here are some other small quilts I made this year:

I made 4 bed quilts this year. The first is a very large queen size and it was gifted to my parents.

The next two went to the shelter.

This is the vintage top I just finished quilting for my very own bed!

I completed six large lap/nap quilts, not counting the QOVs.

Quite a few baby quilts (9 or 10, I couldn’t find pictures of all of them).

And various other wall quilts.

Two quilts were quilted for a friend/customer.

The biggest finish of all for the year was the total renovation of my sewing room after our basement flooded in May. It was more than 6 weeks of hard work but so very worth it! You can see the after pictures here. If you are interested, you can see pictures of my old sewing room here.
A few blog stats
I posted 361 times in 2014. My most popular post was about my new sewing room (see link above). My most popular tutorial was for my hexie quilt here. I had over 100,000 visitors from 101 countries.
I want to thank everyone that visits and comments. I try hard to respond to all comments but there are times when life just gets too busy. I do read and appreciate each and every one. I enjoy blogging, especially all the lovely people I have met as a result. You are the best!
Time to go compile my list of UFOs so I can set some goals for 2015.
Happy Sewing!
Katy
