It’s done! And I love it!

I love the look of grid quilting, but it isn’t the easiest thing to do on the long arm. You quilt all the lines in one direction, remove the quilt from the frame, then turn it 90 degrees, and reload it. Then quilt it all again. It’s hard to get it reloaded exactly square.

So it is far from perfect, but I do love that texture.

It goes nicely with my String Theory quilt (pattern for that by Sharon Tucker of Grassroots Quilt Studio).

I’m so glad I went with the cheddar instead of the “safer” choice of tan.

I think it just sings!
Have a great day!

Just lovely!
It does sing! Well done. The brave choice is almost always the right one (in quilting and life generally).
I love this quilt! For some reason I am not able to comment directly on Word Press so I am sending this direct to you. You mentioned that you find doing the grid on the longarm difficult. I think you have a Gammill now. Doesn’t it feature channel lock? If so I think it can be used vertically or horizontally. If so you could just lock in first one, do the quilt, then roll back to top and lock in the other and do it. I have a Gammill, but due to various back and knee problems have not used it for a number of years. But I remember this was a feature I loved.
I am happy to report that this is the year I am finally able to get back to longarmming…at least that is my goal.
Love your blog, Neena (Portland Oregon)
