I saw the following quilt on Instagram and loved it. Then I remembered that I had 9 patches that I made last summer!

I didn’t have a solid tan that I liked, so I grabbed a chunk of cheddar. This is the die I used.

I decided to just make enough HSTs to try this out.

I either love this or hate it. I can’t make up my mind. The sashing really shouts!

I thought about just making a broken dishes mini quilt instead.

Hmmm….
Have a great day!

bonjour
pour ma part je n’aime pas trop la bande de Hst horizontale. Je comprends l’algorithme, mais je trouve que ça fait fouilis.
c’est personnel .
bravo pour votre créativité.
pour ms part je mets très longtemps à me décider…
A great lesson – one should not be afraid of cutting up some fabric to experiment with an idea. Thank you.
BTW, like the broken dishes.
Great lesson in quiltmaking. Sometimes you have to try an idea and if it doesn’t work, the leftover blocks can be used in something else. Experimenting is a good thing.
I like the broken dishes block better as a stand alone or add other color blocks to make a bigger quilt. Or just use it for a mug rug, pot holder. The new colors stand out too much from the four patches. But I do like the two colors together.
