Half Hexies Part 2

I promised tips for putting this quilt together and here they are!

I didn’t want to quilt this with the zig zag ends and I didn’t want to just cut the points off. So I removed the top row of half hexies and cut them in half.

I added half to the top and half to the bottom and now I have straight edges without any waste!

This quilt is sewn in columns rather than rows.

Every other column has the seams sewn in opposite directions.

This way all seams nest when they are sewn together. It makes construction a breeze.
