Heard Museum ~ Baskets

I have a thing for baskets. I love all kinds of baskets. But there is nothing quite like these.

The patterns and workmanship are truly amazing.

They tell stories.

I cannot imagine how long it must have taken to make one of these. I wish I could have shown you the detail; it just wasn’t possible through the glass.

These next three were huge!

    They are all so beautiful. If the core of the rows was listed, I missed it, only what was used as the dye for the colors.

    so gorgeous….even with labor intensive lives native peoples found time to be artistic in their everyday items…beautiful
