A New Old Quilt

I recently acquired this old quilt.

It appears to have one original border. The others have been replaced, perhaps due to wear.

It really is quite lovely. I’m trying to decide if I will leave the repairs or cut it down and bind it.

What would you do?

Have a great day!

Count me as another one who votes for cutting the border and replacing it with a period fabric binding.

I would cut it down then add binding or add new/old border fabric and then bind it. Curious minds what to see what you’ll do 🙂

  4. I vote for cutting it down and binding.

it seems there is no batting in the repaired borders, though a fix, perhaps binding it in a period fabric might be more pleasing to the eye. The unquilted border takes your eye away from the center. Just an opinion. Dotti in CT
