Something New

I was needing some mindless sewing, so I started digging around and found these bits and pieces from an old jelly roll.

I cut them into random lengths and sewed them end to end.

Then I sewed them together jelly roll race style and ended up with this.

It’s only 32 by 43 inches. I was thinking I might chop it up and reassemble somehow.

Though I do like it better than I expected to. I think there is some potential here. I’m going to have to think on this a bit.

Have a great day!

I did something similar with some extra wide fabrics mixed in with “normal”width fabrics. It looks more random than other jellyroll race quilts. I did not count the number of strips I cut so was disappointed with how small it was going to be. I added an outer border on 2 sides the same width as the strips, and a top and bottom border twice as wide. It is at the longarmer now.

When in doubt some quick placemats!! Love those colors and they wouldn’t show hubby’s messy eating!
