I made this quilt a couple years ago. I used a layer cake.
All the leftovers were cut into tumblers. I also found some gray tumblers and thought they might work together to make a baby quilt.
Yeah, not so much. I hate this. Back into the box they go.
That’s okay. Someday they will become something.

I think the gray tumblers dull the bright colors of the tumblers for the baby quilt too much. Try white as the alternate tumblers.
I thought I bright that one yellow tumbler looks and perhaps that could be your focus fabric. Certainly be baby bright. Dotti in CT
Oh, I think the tumblers would be cute with a lighter background.
I love the layer cake quilt. Is there a pattern? (I have some sitting and begging for purpose.)

BUT I disagree, something to make that tumbler baby quilt could be (if you want that is) : Turn the tumblers to orient 180 degrees, insert a 10″ wide grey strip across the whole topper and then applique a larger tumbler for a circus elephant to partially stand on and then a small brigade of elephants marching across could be adorable, loved and finished with what you initially thought. Just an idea and have FUN!
