Here is a look back at a finish from late 2017. I called this quilt, Vintage Daisies. I still love this one! Enjoy!
This is my last finish for 2017.

These vintage blocks were purchased at an estate sale a few years ago.

I love finishing these old projects! The appliqué bits were all basted.

I used black pearl cotton to appliqué these blocks in a fashion that was popular in the 1930s and 40s.

Normally I like to keep the quilting on these very traditional. But the reality is, this quilt was begun in the last century and completed in this one. No one who looks at this quilting will ever be confused about that!

Here’s a look at the back. I used a plain, unbleached muslin.

Here are a few more photos taken after washing.

I love that texture!

Have a great day!

Love your quilt. When I first became interested in quilting I read all the books I could find on the subject. In the 1980’s and early 1990’s there was little new info on quilt making till later that decade. I fell in love with the older style of quilts, and thought I might make one similar to this one. Beautiful job finishing someone else’s work. Thank you for the memories.
Katy, love this quilt! Did you do all the stitching in black by hand? Looks amazing. I’m trying to decide how to finish the Double Wedding Ring that I recued. I really think I should baste all the rings as the hand stitching is not exactly secure. I don’t sew by hand though. I’d hate to wash it when I’m done and have it come apart. Any thoughts would be great.
Thank you in advance
If you’re in Michigan I hope you’re enjoying our snow storm. lol
Thanks so much for bringing this back for another look. It’s simply wonderful!
I love vintage! Beautiful!
I found blocks secondhand similar to yours and also finished them into a quilt. Such a delightful daisy creation.
