Scrap Busting

I’ve had this bin of black, white, and red fabrics hanging out for ages. I knew what I wanted to do with them, I just haven’t gotten around to starting. This bin is the size of a large shoebox.

I grabbed my AccuQuilt Studio tumbler die and went to work. There is a GO! Die that is the same size and shape. I have that one in AZ.

Not bad!

Not wanting to put any pieces back, I grabbed another die and cut up the leftover scraps from cutting the tumblers.

This is the AccuQuilt Studio die I used. This is equivalent to Shape 1 in the 6” AccuQuilt Qube.

All the tiny leftovers went into the trash. I put the squares in my 2” square bin. The tumbler project is on hold for now. But it takes up much less room and it’s ready to go when I am.

Have a great day!

  1. All of my black, white and red scraps turn into University of Georgia quilts. This is what happens when Husband is born in Athens.

And I’m guessing the dimensions you’ve written on the squares die is the smallest piece of fabric you can use to get all the squares?

This truly excited me, Katy. I just love the black, white and reds together. I always love seeing the results of your cutting sessions. This should be fun!
