Finish It Up Friday ~ Lincoln Museum Quilt

Done! This quick finish turned out quite well after all! For a while there, I wasn’t sure about the colors. This is definitely outside of my wheelhouse.

This is adapted from a pattern by Barbara Blackman called The Lincoln Museum Quilt. My blocks are smaller than hers.

I kept the quilting very simple.

The backing is Kona Stone.

Have a great day!

I have that book! At the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library there’s a walk-through replica of the Lincoln family log cabin with a quilt like this on the bed. (There’s also a replica of the country store where Abe worked, with a life-size statue of Abe selling fabric to a life-size statue of a woman. The fabric are bolts of contemporary CW repros. I haven’t been there for a while but I’m sure that portion of the museum exhibits hasn’t changed very much.

I like the repro fabrics most the time but I must say the colors on this quilt came out pretty good and I do like it. Thanks for your column. I enjoy reading it.
