Slow Stitching ~ Is It Done Yet?

Ta daaaaa!!! It’s finally all in one piece and pressed.

I love it, but I am tired of working on it.

This next photo shows what it looks like on a 45 degree angle.

And here is a peek at the back.

It currently measures about 46”by 56”. I have more pieces cut. Should I keep going and make it bigger? And how will I finish the edges?

These are the questions I’m currently pondering. At the very least, it may do some closet time. I’m overdue for some hand quilting.

Have a great day!

I have my hexigon in time out as well as my tumbling blocks. I understand the need for a break.

I think you will not regret continuing to add to this quilt even if it does get some “closet time”. The versatility of a larger size will give you opportunities to show off this work of art. As far as your edges, I believe just trimming them up straight followed by the perfect binding will frame this quilt up to a showpiece. Great piece Katy!

Your fabrics are simply delightful and I keep looking and looking and looking. Today I found one I actually have from a loooooong time ago. Make it bigger when you’re ready, display in the meantime.

I think it’s a great size as is but maybe a little closet time is in order. You could always come back to it later to make it a few rows wider and longer. I gotta hand it to ya, Katy. That was one tough one.

    I love it!
If it was me I would put a neutral border on it but instead of machining a straight line I would appliqué the edges of your piecing onto the border. That way you do not lose an interesting edge.
With your extra pieces you could always add an appliquéd zig zag stripe.
