I was talking on the phone and wandering around the sewing room at the same time. I grabbed a jelly roll I picked up somewhere and opened it. I was a bit bummed to realize there were only 24 strips, eight of each of these three prints.

Whatever. I hung up and stitched in groups of three. It is really bright!

I have a love/hate relationship with jelly rolls due to the pinked edges.

I’ve even use my die cutter at times to cut them off! I was too lazy this time, so I stitched them as is and squared up my blocks using the 6 1/2” square die from my 12” AccuQuilt Qube.

I don’t care that the strips don’t end up perfectly even. The blocks are all exact and no seams need to match except for the corners of the blocks.

This is the start of my layout.

What a productive phone call! Have a great day!

It’s pretty wild, Daddio!
I dislike those pinked edges, too, but you came up with a fun use for that jelly roll! I’d call it Woodstock – I can hear Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan in the background – LOL
and just like that it’s a small quilt….i’d call it ‘blue flame’….very pretty!
I love the Shark Reunion you posted the other day. Is there a pattern somewhere, or was it just out of your magical head?
