Done with plenty of time to mail it!

I bought a fuzzy fleece blanket for the backing. You can see here that I bound it by machine for durability. It isn’t my best binding job.

I quilted in a large meander right over top of the appliqué. Some of the fleece poked up through the stitches. Ugh.

The back is nice and cozy though.

Washing it improved the pokies.

And increased the texture.

I really don’t like quilting with this stuff on the back. It is stretchy and hard to work with. But this nana will do pretty much anything for her boys!

Have a great day!

Oh, it turned out wonderfully, Katy! He’ll be crazy about it. You’re such a cool grandma. 🙂
Super cute quilt!! The kids love those soft plush backs but I agree, they are a pain to sew. You’re a wonderful grandma! Hugs,
It is just perfect!!! Love the wonky placing of the letters!!
this will be used and loved so much!!!
Perfect birthday quilt! I’d love to get better at machine binding, but recently admitted that I have never been satisfied, much less happy, about a machine binding, and am back at hand sewing bindings down. We’ll see how long it is before I am tempted into machine binding again and the cycle starts anew.
