This was a fun little experiment. It continued with the binding. I attached it by machine to the back.

And then folded to the front and used big stitches to stitch it down to the front.

Ta daaa!

I used a muslin that I knew would shrink a lot for the backing.

I love how the quilting turned out.

I washed it when it was finished. The rest of these photos show it after washing.

It is so soft.

I’m not sure what I will use this for, quite possibly it will go into the dog crate. But I’ve learned loads with this piece and had fun doing it.
Have a great day!

Wow! You make my utility quilt look so…basic. Nice work! How long did it take you, with your more elaborate quilting design, to hand-quilt it?
I’ve learned from my first one and am planning to learn from my mistakes, but I’m still not going to go for the more advanced bits. That would take more time and experience.
Any lessons learned you’d like to share?
I love the visual plus the texturalness of hand quilting, it is something that machine quilting can not match.
I love how this turned out!! Love the quilting and the binding. Please use it for a table topper!!

I absolutely love this quilt! It would look great in my house! Tomorrow on Quilters Day I think I will try my hand at it! I love how you big stitched the binding and the little patches are precious. Have a great weekend. Hugs,
Love your quilt. From the fabrics, the big stitch, the way you used different stitch patterns, using big stitch on the binding THE WHOLE QUILT. Please use it for small quilt for the group you are in on FB and how about using as what I calla THROW ABOUT- to enjoy looking at on coffee table, side table or anywhere it can be admired.
