I mentioned the other day that I am taking part in the Feather QAL hosted by Amy over at 13 Spools. I am reviewing the lessons from Angela Walters’ Craftsy class Free Motion Quilting Feathers. Here are some of my practice bits.

You can see that I am using up a lot of scraps of fabric and batting, just stitching the pieces down as I go.

I am always in such a hurry to get things done. I need to spend more time playing. It is fun!
Also, I had a question asking if I use Red Snappers. No, but I have created a similar loading system for my long arm using some inexpensive tubing and rope light tracks from Home Depot. You can go to this post to see the details.

Looking just wonderful! Keep going!
You’re doing an amazing job, Katy! And you’re right about the need to spend more time “playing”. We all do!
Look at you go!!!
What gorgeous feathers! Can hardly wait to see them in one of your next quilts 😉
Happy Feathering…

Katy, Your feathers look great!
What fun! Your feathers are looking great. I especially like the playful ones with the curls in them and that fern feather is just amazing. What fun, you’re making me want to get some fabric on the frame to try out some new feathers.
Katy, your feathers are looking wonderful! Keep up the great work.
Beautiful job Katy – thanks for sharing!
Your feathers look fabulous!
