Not exactly on the wall but still designing…on the frame, I am working out quilting designs for this:

And on the table, I am working on this:

We have a road trip coming up and I will bring my hexies but I wanted something else for a change of pace.

I am using this die to cut my leaf shapes out of freezer paper.

I cut the muslin squares at 4.5″. I am going to try one today before I go too crazy cutting!

Enjoy your quilting. The pumpkin seeds look like a nice handwork project. What method are you using with the freezer paper? I used to use the glue stick and put the paper on the bottom, but I recently started putting the freezer paper on the top. It take a little bit more skill, but there is no worry about taking out the paper later. Enjoy!
I used to feel like other quilters accomplished so much more than I. Then I realized they were just making tops! The fun part for some of us is adding the quilting to the quilt–and that’s often more important than just piecing the top!
Oh yeah! It would have been so much easier to cut these guys with a die cutter. I’m looking forward to seeing how these turn out. I used a piece of non-melt template plastic and starched the seam allowance over the edges of the plastic and then ironed like crazy. I would do several at a time and enjoyed the hand work of stitching them down. Hope you enjoy yours… your method is much more portable. Have fun on your trip
Love that leaf – fabulous fabric … what are you going to do with them?
I look forward to seeing how you quilt the row quilt on your frame. I love the modern look of it.
