Slow Stitching Sunday

I finished quilting my DS hexie quilt and hope to finish the hand sewing in the binding today.

I ended up going with the medium blue print and I am really happy with it. I do appreciate all of your input. It was interesting to read different perspectives on it!

I quilted this with a panto from Urban Elementz called Dizzy Izzy. It made me a little crazy!

This was the most difficult panto I have ever done. It was critical to be accurate in order to have even spacing. My accuracy is definitely lacking! Hopefully, when it is all washed, it will be less noticeable. I do love the texture it gives.

I didn’t pay a lot of attention when I ordered this and it is really too wide for my 18″ machine. By the time I had done 4 rows, I was out of room. The 5th row was only a half row (I loaded the top sideways) and if it hadn’t been, I wouldn’t have been able to quilt the whole width of the row.

I have been busy cleaning and finishing up little projects around the house before Daughter #2 comes home on Tuesday. I can’t wait!

Very pretty! I have not been brave enough to quilt on my sewing machine yet. I quilt by hand because I am a chicken, lol!

I like that quilting … I see nothing wrong with it … I think it adds a lot of wonderful texture to the quilt. Yes, that border fabric was the perfect choice … was is the fabric you chose for the binding. I can’t wait to see it completely finished!

The panto gives your quilt a great texture. We are all our own worst critics, nobody else ever tries to find the flaws and they will only feel the full effect of the quilt. Love your border fabric.

  6. wow this is an adorable quilt – I LOVE the new border – the colour is more suitable and the print size is perfect – good decision to re-border – love your quilt

I think you will love the effect of the quilting after the quilt is washed and crinkled a little. I like your choices for the border and binding. They nicely frame your beautiful quilt. Your DS will love it.

  9. The quilting looks great from here! And I like the idea of a half row on the end 🙂
Enjoy stitching your binding (and I love the fabric choice!)
