WIP Wednesday

While trying to decide how to quilt the rainbow strip quilt, I pulled out another item from my FAL 2014 list.

I cannot remember for sure how long ago I made these blocks but it had to be at least 15 years. They are not as well pieced as I remembered either! I do think they deserve to be finished though. I was just going to use muslin for the setting triangles but can’t find an exact match in my stash. So I started considering some other options.

Hmmm….. Not sure yet what to do. I would like to get this top finished this week. Not sure how to quilt this either.

I am getting a clearer idea of how to finish another item off my FAL list, my DS hexie top.

Since I know where I want to go with this, I may switch gears and go back to this project.

  1. Great blocks. I like the lighter colored pink… even though you weren’t asking lol!! Beautiful blocks

  2. Christine Sherman says:

15 years ago?! I love it, this will be a great quilt!

  3. Robyn says:

The old blocks are really great, it’s always nice to rediscover something you haven’t seen in awhile. They remind me of sunflowers, but pink! I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  4. Nancy W. says:

These blocks do deserve to be finished..they are really nice. Love the hexes!

  5. I love your blocks, this pattern is lovely and so are the pinks! The hexies top looks as well great!

  6. Ann says:

The sunflower blocks are still beautiful… even after 15 years. I look forward to seeing your final choice of alternate block.

  7. Lois says:

Well, you see? Something good has come from the awful flooding. I really like the fabric you’ve pulled to compliment the 15 year old blocks. Can’t wait to see the completed quilt.

  8. Maybe while you finish up the hexie top, it will come to you what you’d like to do with the old blocks (which certainly look well done to me!).
