Yesterday I made a few receiving blankets for Baby E as the ones he received as shower gifts were too small! Last night I had time to work on my own projects and felt a bit stymied as to what to work on. My sewing room is almost too clean! I spied a rainbow of fabrics I had dyed a couple years ago and went to work.

Not sure where this is going yet. It sure is bright!
I also loaded some fabric onto the frame for some quilting practice. I feel so rusty after 6 weeks of not quilting.

I was feeling more comfortable by the time I got to this. And then this happened:

I love Glide thread and it is sad to finish a cone of it! Glad I had its replacement in stand by.
One of the little projects I was really happy about in my new sewing room, was the solution for dealing with the long arm cords. I hate having cords out when they are not being used. I always unplug my long arm. So this is what I did:

See the surge suppressor cord coming
out of the cabinet? It actually plugs in here:

I cut out a space in the back f the cabinet so I could get to the outlet behind. When I am done quilting, the whole things sits out of sight in this cabinet. It’s the little things people!
BTW, I got this great anti fatigue mat at Menards. They are now on sale for $9.99. I got another one to go in the back if the long arm.
Now to get rid of this headache before work! Have a great Saturday!

Lovely quilting! Handmade flannel receiving blankets are the best! I have made several two sided ones to give as gifts and they hold up much better than the store bought ones.
