Folding Fabric

I had yesterday off of work and spent most of the day sorting and re-folding my fabric stash.

Here is how I do it. First lay the fabric out folded selvedge to selvedge and the fold in half again lengthwise like this:

I use a 6″ x 12″ ruler and roll the fabric around it.

I tuck the raw edge in when I get to the end and slide the ruler out.

It all would have ended up much neater but I didn’t iron as I went and fabrics are not all exactly the same width to begin with. It is much better than it was.
Hmmm….. I think I need more reds!

Mr. Wonderful and I were up late again last night working on the floor. We are getting closer!

Oh my goodness! That last photo shows what a huge undertaking this was. On the bright side, It won’t be long now until you have everything back in place. I know you’re rarin’ to go!

  3. I am sure it must feel like it’s taking a good while to finish this up, but you all are really making good progress. Looks like it shouldn’t be much longer now. 😉
