Work in Progress Wednesday

Working until 9 last night meant no work in the sewing room for me. Hubby worked hard on the office though. He is in the stage where things look worse before they get better! Lots of sorting going on. I did work on my HSTeria project a bit.

I have 41 more HSTs I can add. Weird number, I know. I will probably add a row to the top and left side and throw the extras away because I don’t want to look at them any more!

I also found a few containers of red, white, and blue scraps and chopped them into 2.5″ squares to make more 4 patches.

And in the category of “Things that make you go, hmmmm…..”, I checked my email on my phone last night and found this:

What? I have unread emails from 1969? They later disappeared.

Weird.

Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

ETA: I have been scouring internet land for sewing room ideas and found Janet’s blog, Simply Pieced. She has just redone her room and it looks amazing! You can check it out here. If you have pictures on your blog of your sewing area, please send me a link! I think I am going to do a post later this week or next with links to great sewing spaces.

  1. I have an Android phone 4 years old and I get those 1969 emails too. I thought maybe it was something with the old Android 2.3 that I have. I was hoping they wouldn’t be there if I got a newer phone.

  2. I’ve gotten emails from 12/31/1969 … strange, isn’t it?

No sewing room here for me to share pictures. I dream of having one, but in reality I’m quite content with my little share of the spare bedroom. 😉

I love how your HST quilt is coming together!! My accountant self would never have thought of putting that square off-center, but my quilter self loves it!

  3. love your HST quilt, Katy! and the emails are so weird! I just finished my new sewing room this weekend and I LOOOOVE it! Here is a link for you!

I’ve gotten those exact same emails, a very large quantity a few different times. Haven’t ever figured it out.

  5. Diane says:

I think those emails were from the future and someone traveled back to fix the space-time continuum. 🙂

  6. Lois says:

What a WIERD email! New Years Eve 1969. VERY strange! I’m sure the monotony of HTS is starting to drive you batty but like ‘birthing a child’, the pain will soon pass. LOL!

  7. knottygnome says:

your HST quilt is lovely but i hear you about getting sick of them. i usually don’t want to see any again for a long while after i make a quilt with lots of hsts.

I am in the midst of piecing 4 patches myself. I moved to a new studio area (part of the basement) a year ago but I won’t send pictures because it’s all messy now!

  9. Mary Huey says:

Don’t throw the extra HST’s away!! Splice the backing and insert a row of them back there — everyone always thinks I’m so “arty” when I do that!

  10. Jenny says:

So weird about your email! I love your quilt but don’t throw away those extras! Use them in the backing our something. 🙂

  11. Ilene says:

I can certainly relate to wanting to toss the left overs but you never know you might want to use them at some time in the future. we love the layout of your quilt and how the eye is drawn into the square on the right hand side. happy quilting

  12. Pauline Perry says:

I really like the layout of your HST’s it’s beautiful. Can’t bear the thought of you throwing away the extras though – although I can understand you are at the point where you don’t want to see them again – can’t you sew them together to make something for a child – a dolly quilt or a patch to put on the front of a little tote bag for a child or something.
