I am almost done adding triangles to the album blocks.

I started figuring out how many pieces of sashing and how many cornerstones I would need to complete the top. I pulled out the fabric I had purchased for the sashing, border, and binding.

Only to find that I don’t have near enough! Ugggg!!!!! This is an older fabric line and I am not sure I can find anymore.
Time to tweak my design. Sigh….

beautiful blocks, Katy! I would certainly try to find that fabric online. Etsy shops can sometimes carry hard to find fabrics. If you can’t though, I am sure that you’ll be able to find another fabric that blends beautifully with the rest. That is so frustrating though (I’ve been there too!).
Thanks so much for linking up to Needle and Thread Thursday!

Katy,
I have found that if you Google the name of the fabric and the company name, for example Shangri La by Moda , and be persistent and check all of the links you CAN find what you’re looking for (most of the time). I recently found six yards of a print at http://www.whittlesfabrics.com that was from 2011 and I paid $4.00 a yard for it. It originally sold for $12.95 per yard. You don’t have to go to eBay and pay exorbitant prices to get what you need/want. I was never so happy to find that little shop in Kentucky and they do flat rate shipping too. I have used this method several times and have been successful each time. Give it a try, you might be surprised!
Lisa 😉
Your album blocks are beautiful. I hope you’re able to either find more fabric or another fabric that will work with the ones you have. I’m sure the quilt will be beautiful however you choose to finish it.
Jill gave a couple of good choices for finding the fabric you need … and sometimes I’ve gotten lucky and found a yard or two from an online store who had just a little left. I’m using some Kansas Troubles fabrics for my Kiss blocks … a couple of the fabrics are just old enough that finding more is getting increasingly difficult, so I purchased a few extra yards just in case and am frantically piecing my blocks so if I need more, I’ll hopefully have the time to find more. Good luck on the fabric hunt … I just LOVE the fabrics you’re using in this quilt.
Oh, Katy, I have been short of fabric also. It is an uggg…. Do not despair as it all works out in the end. There are similar colors and prints readily available. Sometimes I have found fabric on etsy or ebay. Your quilt will have a nice scrappy look with lots of interest.
