The majority of my commenters said the white background of the cross blocks was too stark. I agreed. So I made a few friendship star blocks to throw in instead.

I got it quilted and if the weather is nice enough today, I will have finished pictures to show tomorrow.

I had some extra batting and backing at the end so I did a bit of free motion practice too.

And here is a peak at the back of the quilt.

I am linking up with Connie at Free Motion by the River for Linky Tuesday and Fresh Squeezed Fabric’s Show and Tell Tuesday.

Looks beautiful Katy and the quilting is really neat! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Teri! I didn’t like that white either! This way, I used up more of the scraps as well.
Take care, Katy

The Friendship Star block is a WONDERFUL contrast! Good job, Katy! I also love the quilting as seen on the back.
Perfect compromise. It is just perfect for the quilt.
Oh…that shot of the back is fantastic!!! I mean the everything I saw was great too, but that shot of the back has all kinds of ideas sparking for me. 🙂 Very nice. 🙂
That star is perfect! Looks like it was part of the original design for sure! Gorgeous … can’t wait to see it finished.
That star is just right! And the quilting looks very good, especially the free motion designs.
Oh ya, that star is perfect on there. Is that a pantograph or did you free hand? all those diagonal lines gave me a bit of a chill. Mine could never look that without a ruler.
