Design Wall Monday

This is what is on my design wall today:

Not a finished product by any means. I had the cross blocks left over from the cross quilt and I am toying with the idea of adding a either these or some other blocks to break up the design a bit. What do you think?

I didn’t sew much on Sunday, spent it with the family instead. I did make some hexie progress.

Daughter #1 loved the crib sheet and bumper pads I made for Baby Q.>

Because of the way the crib is made, I couldn’t use traditional ties to attach the bumper pads. I like this look better anyway and she does too! I know what I want to do for the crib quilt also, just need to get to work!

I am linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times for DWM and Marelize at Stitch by Stitch for Anything Goes Monday.

Thanks, Sue! I am really happy with them too. I am glad now that the ties wouldn’t work! Now on to the quilt :).

    Take care, Katy

  2. Isn’t it wonderful to move leftovers into a wonderful new quilt — right after the first quilt is done? Neat quilt. Love the crib “decorations”. Baby will have many hours of peaceful sleep in that lovely room.

Love your bumper pad tie alternative!! You are one talented lady 🙂

Love the quilt and know it will be awesome when finished!

Love the noteworthy with the crosses. An off white or cream would be nice.

I guess I’m odd man out regarding the cross block. I don’t mind the contrast at all. If you only had the three to work with, I would place them all down the center.(or just use one in the center).

I love the skirt around the crib. It allows a hiding place for items not yet used.

That crib is wonderful! Love the bumper pad tie solution. Way way way better than the usual ties.

  8. I agree with Teri … if you want to add something else, I’d suggest a more toned-down neutral. 😉

Hexies are a nice project to work on when you want to spend time with family or friends.

I just love your bumper pad tie substitution … I thought at first that was just a decorative touch … I love it!

Love the “+”, but I think the background is too white. My eye travels to the brightness. Perhaps you could put the leftovers on the back instead.
